8,000 Meals Provided at Free Meal Center
Visiting and Comforting Disaster Victims at Andong Gymnasium

Baek Jong-won, CEO of The Born Korea, along with employees visited Andong City, which suffered from wildfires, to support the disaster victims and wildfire suppression personnel.


According to Andong City on the 4th, 50 employees of The Born Korea provided 8,000 meals at the free meal center of Gilan Middle School in Andong City from the 28th of last month to the 3rd. They volunteered by preparing and serving more than 1,000 meals daily on-site, starting from 4 a.m. every day.

On the 3rd, CEO Baek, who visited Andong, personally prepared 800 meals. He also visited the Andong Gymnasium, where the largest number of disaster victims were accommodated, and served meals with words of encouragement saying, "Stay strong."


CEO Baek said, "I have a deep connection with Andong, and I wish I could come every day, but I am sorry that I cannot. This volunteer activity is not the end; together with my employees, I will think about ways to help so that Andong City can quickly recover its daily life and regain vitality."


Mayor Kwon Ki-chang of Andong City expressed, "I deeply appreciate the continuous volunteer work and warm support from CEO Baek and the cast of 'Black and White Chefs.' Many helping hands for Andong City are giving hope and courage to citizens who are in sorrow and despair." He added, "Andong City will also prioritize the rapid recovery of citizens' daily lives as the top administrative task and concentrate administrative efforts to do its best in damage restoration."
