The newly reorganized Yeoju Tourist Circulation Bus will operate two routes: the ‘Yeoju City Tour’ and the ‘Yeoju Flower Island Tour.’ It aims to prepare for the increased tourism demand following the opening of the Yeoju Namhangang Suspension Bridge in May and to enhance convenience for tourists by improving accessibility to major island tourist spots such as Gangcheon Island and Dangnam-ri Island.
The Yeoju City Tour route starts from Yeoju Station and goes through Sinreuksa Tourist Site (north end of Yeoju Namhangang Suspension Bridge), King Sejong’s Tomb, Sejong Market/Daerosa, the south end of Namhangang Suspension Bridge, Geumeunmorae Camping Site, Hwanghaksan Arboretum, and the Birthplace of Empress Myeongseong, before returning to Yeoju Station. It operates five times daily.
The Yeoju Flower Island Tour route starts from Yeoju Station and passes through Sinreuksa Tourist Site (north end of Yeoju Namhangang Suspension Bridge), Gangcheon Island, Dangnam-ri Island, Ipobo Observatory/Pasaseong Fortress, and returns to Yeoju Station. It operates twice daily on weekends only.
Tourists can freely get on and off at any desired stop by purchasing a one-day pass (5,000 KRW), and children under 36 months can ride for free.
Along with the route reorganization, the exterior design of the Yeoju Tourist Circulation Bus will also be newly changed. The bus exterior features illustrations of Yeoju’s representative tourist attractions to give passengers a sense of experiencing the travel destinations in advance. Additionally, a GPS-based announcement system has been introduced, and foreign language guide services in English, Chinese, and Japanese have been added to further enhance convenience for tourists.
Lee Soon-yeol, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation, said, “As this year marks the inaugural year of tourism, we expect the number of visitors to Yeoju to increase more than ever. We will continue to strive to provide a more convenient and enjoyable travel experience,” and added, “We hope this route expansion will serve as an opportunity to widely promote the charm of Yeoju.”
