The Environmental Industry Summit event is hosted by EBI, a U.S.-based environmental consulting and research organization. The CCBJ Business Performance Award is given annually to institutions and companies that have contributed to climate change response and sustainable energy transition. This year, Korea Airports Corporation is the only awardee from the Asian region.

Last year, the corporation produced and consumed 796 MWh of electricity annually through a solar power facility installed on idle land in the Sacheon Airport parking lot, reducing 366 tons of greenhouse gases each year. Additionally, it was recognized for its carbon neutrality efforts, including a public eco-friendly travel campaign and promoting a circular economy through recycling of waste electronic products.

Lee Jeong-gi, Acting President of the corporation, said, "We are honored that our corporation’s eco-friendly efforts have been recognized globally," adding, "We will continue to do our best to realize a carbon-neutral airport."
