The Gwangju business community has emphasized the government's role in fostering economic stability and recovery, as well as nurturing local food industries, following the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol.

The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry released a statement on the 4th, saying, "With today's announcement of the presidential impeachment verdict, we are facing a significant turning point in our nation's history," and added, "Even amidst these political changes, efforts to ensure economic stability and recovery must continue."

They continued, "There are concerns about political instability, but the most important thing is to take practical measures for economic recovery," and explained, "There are also urgent issues to resolve in our region, such as the Trump-initiated mutual tariff issue, the relocation of the military airport, and the Winia incident."

Additionally, they stated, "The Gwangju business community will actively support the resolution of these issues in cooperation with the government," and added, "We will work with the government to help local companies overcome economic difficulties and improve the business environment."

The Gwangju Employers Federation also issued a press release on the same day, stating, "We hope that this ruling will quickly stabilize the current political turmoil and that both ruling and opposition parties will work together to swiftly remove the uncertainty overshadowing our economy," and emphasized, "In preparation for the upcoming presidential election, we will dedicate all our efforts to discovering tailored election pledges for the development of Gwangju's future food industries and for supporting local SMEs and small business owners, so these can be reflected in the next administration's policy agenda."

The Gwangju Employers Federation highlighted ten key policy proposals for SMEs and small business owners that should be included in the upcoming presidential election pledges, including: ▲ Expansion of policy fund loans for small business owners ▲ Expansion of policy fund support projects for SMEs by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency ▲ Improvement of the stable foreign worker system ▲ Expansion of job support policies for SMEs ▲ Imposition of indirect taxes to expand childbirth incentives for SME and small business employees ▲ Expansion of purchases of joint brand products by SMEs ▲ Establishment of platforms for SMEs and small business owners ▲ Support for the implementation of the Serious Accident Punishment Act for workplaces with fewer than 50 employees ▲ Expansion of support for cooperatives, among others.

They also added, "Strategic tasks that will be responsible for Gwangju's next 100 years must be included as national policy tasks by the next administration to support the development of the Republic of Korea."
