Administrative Stability, Public Order, Livelihood Economy, Wildfire Prevention, Enhanced Communication, and Public Sector Discipline
As the Constitutional Court delivered a ruling to uphold the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 4th, Yangsan City has emphasized the need to establish discipline among public officials to ensure stable municipal administration and minimize social conflict.
On the 4th, Mayor Na Dongyeon convened an emergency meeting with department heads, urging them to: maintain administrative stability; uphold public safety and social order; review support systems for economic stability and welfare; strengthen wildfire prevention measures; enhance communication with citizens and actively respond to fake news related to municipal affairs; and maintain political neutrality and discipline among public officials.
During the meeting, it was decided that the city would respond comprehensively to ensure municipal stability and citizen unity. In addition, Yangsan City will maintain close cooperation with the police and related agencies to ensure public order and resident safety in the event of rallies or demonstrations.
Furthermore, in light of the prolonged economic downturn and the recent tariff war originating from the United States, which has affected not only businesses but also small merchants in local markets, the city emphasized prioritizing administrative efforts to revitalize the local economy.
In particular, as social instability increases, vulnerable groups such as the unemployed, elderly, and low-income households may suffer greater harm. Therefore, the city will ensure there are no gaps in various welfare support systems. With the national wildfire crisis alert currently at its highest level and the special countermeasure period for large-scale spring wildfires in effect until April 30, the city will also make thorough preparations for wildfire prevention.
Additionally, Mayor Na called for the prompt and accurate delivery of information to ensure stable daily life for citizens, the operation of constant communication channels to gather diverse opinions, active responses to malicious rumors and fake news aimed at damaging municipal affairs, and the provision of accurate and transparent administrative information via the city’s website and social media.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "Given the grave national situation, it is crucial to further strengthen discipline within the public sector. We must prevent any lapse in work discipline due to unnecessary words or insincere attitudes," adding, "In particular, please be especially careful to maintain strict political neutrality and refrain from any actions favoring specific political factions."
