The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eunhee) announced that on the 4th, 15 staff members visited the Cheongsong National Sports Center to participate in volunteer activities for wildfire recovery efforts.
This volunteer activity was promoted in cooperation with the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, and a total of 30 members from the "Joint Education Office Volunteer Group," consisting of 15 staff members from each office, assisted with loading and unloading relief supplies and other tasks.
Employees of the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, who are volunteering in wildfire relief efforts in Cheongsong, Gyeongbuk, are unloading relief supplies from a truck.
The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education stated that it is closely coordinating with the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education and the Korean Red Cross to continue supporting necessary activities in the affected areas even after this event.
Kim Chungha, Director of Policy Support, who participated in the volunteer work, said, "Seeing the site in person, the wildfire damage is much more severe than I expected, which is very heartbreaking. I extend my deepest condolences to all those who suffered losses due to the wildfire, and I hope our efforts will provide at least some comfort to the displaced residents as they strive to return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education is conducting a fundraising campaign among all employees and running the "Hometown Love Donation Daegu Education Campaign" in connection with the Hometown Love Donation System to support wildfire recovery efforts.
