"Expectations for Stabilizing State Affairs

KCCI emphasized, "Currently, our economy faces complex domestic and international challenges, including domestic demand stagnation, weakening competitiveness of key industries, U.S. tariff measures, and the spread of protectionism," and stressed, "Considering the severe economic situation, it is now time to move beyond social confrontation and conflicts and promptly normalize state affairs."
They also added, "We hope efforts for economic recovery and stabilization of people's livelihoods will continue."
Since the inauguration of the second Trump administration, uncertainties in trade policies, including tariffs, have increased, causing Korean companies to struggle in preparing responses, but there has been a significant gap in diplomatic and trade leadership. The business community views the upcoming early presidential election within 60 days and the inauguration of a new government as an opportunity to dispel uncertainties and revitalize the economy. In particular, there is a strong voice hoping that the new government will actively address urgent tasks such as restoring foreign investment, stabilizing the exchange rate, resuming external negotiations, and processing key legislation.
