Pusan National University and Hanwha Ocean Sign MOU to Promote Defense Industry Education and Research

Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hanwha Ocean, a leading K-marine defense company, at the university headquarters on the 3rd to promote education and research in the defense industry sector.

This MOU was initiated to strengthen competitiveness in the defense industry and to promote research and development that incorporates advanced technologies. Through this agreement, Pusan National University and Hanwha Ocean plan to systematically establish industry-academia cooperation in the defense sector and pursue various collaborative projects aimed at nurturing talent and advancing technology to lead future industries.

With this MOU, the two institutions aim to: △ establish a network between the university and the company △ provide corporate support and cooperation for outstanding talents such as master's and doctoral students △ mutually cooperate in joint research on defense innovation technologies and nurturing specialized talents △ contribute to industrial development through the exchange of research activities and advanced technologies and information △ and develop industry-academia cooperation models, thereby presenting future directions for the advancement of the defense industry in both academia and industry.

Pusan National University and Hanwha Ocean have agreed to support research in their respective specialized fields, expand the scope of industry-academia cooperation, and create new collaborative strategies for the mutual development of both institutions and the defense industry sector. They will work together with the goal of advancing high-tech defense industries and expanding domestic and international defense business for mutual growth.

Hanwha Ocean CEO Eo Seongcheol stated, "Through this MOU, I hope that we can continuously expand a 'win-win' relationship with Pusan National University in the defense industry sector."

Pusan National University President Choi Jaewon said, "This research cooperation between Pusan National University and Hanwha Ocean will be systematically promoted, centered on the university's research office.
