Volunteered to Serve Meals Due to Their Close Friendship
Group BTS member Jin (real name Kim Seokjin) visited a wildfire-affected area to volunteer.
According to BTS's agency Big Hit Music on the 3rd, Jin participated in meal service volunteer work at Gilan Middle School located in Gilan-myeon, Andong, Gyeongbuk. Gilan Middle School is where The Born Korea, led by CEO Baek Jongwon who is known to be close to Jin, recently set up a free meal service for disaster victims.
On that day, photos and eyewitness accounts of Jin wearing an apron and distributing food were posted on social media, revealing the news. Jin reportedly comforted residents while serving meals alongside other volunteers.
Earlier, The Born Korea has been operating a free meal service at Gilan Middle School since the 28th of last month, preparing 300 to 700 meals per serving on-site to provide warm meals to disaster victims, military, police, and firefighters involved in wildfire suppression efforts.
Big Hit Music stated, "We wanted to offer even a small help to those affected by the wildfire, so Jin joined the volunteer activities." BTS members Jungkook donated 1 billion KRW, V donated 2 billion KRW, and RM, J-Hope, and Suga each donated 100 million KRW to support wildfire recovery efforts.
Jin and Baek Jongwon are known to have formed a connection while appearing together on a variety show. The two also invested together to establish the agricultural corporation Yesandongga, entering the alcoholic beverage business.
