Held at Sangil-dong Eoul Madang Until October This Year
The Gangdong Flea Market will be held from June to October this year (excluding the midsummer months of July and August) at Sangil-dong Eoul Madang (888 Dongnam-ro). The Gangdong Flea Market is Gangdong-gu's representative sharing market, continuing for 19 years. It is jointly organized by Gangdong-gu and the Women's Association Council through public-private cooperation.
This year, the flea market will open three times in total from this month to October (excluding July and August). The scheduled opening dates are June 21, September 20, and October 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to the following week.
This event consists of a citizen sales area for buying and selling recycled goods, promotional booths where local organizations and institutions promote programs and provide information, and a cultural area featuring balloon art, face painting, and performances, offering a variety of attractions and entertainment. Additionally, local youth organizations will participate, making it a rich cultural exchange venue.
At the citizen sales area, residents can sell reusable items such as clothing, toys, books, and stationery that were previously used at home. However, food, electronic devices, and high-priced items are not allowed to be sold. After the flea market ends, 10% of the sales proceeds can be voluntarily donated to practice sharing.
Residents who wish to participate in sales can apply on the Gangdong-gu Office website from 10 a.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday of the week the flea market opens, and participants will be selected through a random draw. On the day of the event, sellers can receive their spot tickets from 9 a.m. and start selling. On-site participation is also possible if there are absentees or vacant spots.
Shin Eun-ok, Director of the Family Policy Division of Gangdong-gu, stated, "As residents show great interest in the Gangdong Flea Market, we will do our best to make it a safe market where people can enjoy the joy of sharing and create good memories."
