Mark Rutte, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is scheduled to visit Japan from the 8th to the 10th, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 3rd.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his stay, Secretary General Rutte will meet with Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru to exchange views on responses to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and cooperation to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "Through Secretary General Rutte's visit to Japan, the relationship between Japan and NATO is expected to be further strengthened."
This will be Secretary General Rutte's first visit to Japan since taking office in October last year.
