Honam University Volunteer Group, "Chiwisaenghakgwa Neulsolgil" Dental Hygiene Volunteer Activities

Honam University announced on the 3rd that the Social Service Group "Neulsorilgil" from the Department of Dental Hygiene, under the Sarang Nanum Center (Director Lee Muhyung), conducted an oral health education volunteer activity for inpatients at Honam THE Sun Geriatric Hospital on the 2nd.

On this day, Professor Jung Kyungi and 10 students from the Department of Dental Hygiene provided one-on-one customized, practice-oriented education focusing on proper tooth brushing techniques, the use of interdental brushes, denture care methods, and oral exercises.

Lee Suhyeon, a second-year student who participated in the volunteer activity, said, "It was very rewarding to communicate directly with patients and provide customized education, as I was able to apply what I learned in theory to real-life situations."

Professor Jung Kyungi stated, "It was a meaningful time as we were able to provide practical help through education tailored to each patient's individual oral health status," adding, "It was also a great opportunity for students to gain field experience."
