Promoting the 'Dream Start Project'
to Inspire Dreams and Hope
Gokseong County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 3rd that it will be seeking to identify new participants for the 'Dream Start Project,' which provides customized services to children from vulnerable groups.
The Dream Start Project is a welfare initiative that offers tailored welfare services to children under the age of 12 from vulnerable backgrounds or their families, ensuring equal opportunities at the starting line so that children can grow into healthy members of society.
The target group includes recipients of basic living security, those just above the poverty line, and single-parent families who have children in need of support for their development and growth. A child integrated case manager visits the household to conduct an initial consultation and assess the caregiving environment, after which candidates for the service are selected through a case conference.
Once selected, recipients are provided with customized services in areas such as physical health, cognitive and language development, emotional and behavioral support, and parental and family support. They may also receive sponsored goods or participate in various programs through connections with local resources and supporting organizations. In particular, this year, the project will focus on identifying new participants among children from multicultural families in rural, agricultural, and fishing villages in collaboration with family centers.
County Governor Cho Sangrae stated, "The Dream Start Project goes beyond simple support and focuses on laying the foundation for children to nurture their own dreams and hopes," adding, "We will do our utmost to proactively reach out to children and families in need, connecting them to prompt and customized welfare services so that not a single child is left behind."
