Hong Nam-pyo, the mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, who was put on trial for violating the Public Official Election Act during the 2022 nationwide local elections, left city hall on the afternoon of the 3rd after the Supreme Court confirmed the invalidation of his election.

Mayor Hong expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you for everything," and shook hands with city hall officials, security staff, and other employees to say goodbye.
