Enhancing Student Satisfaction and On-Site Competitiveness
Gumi University in North Gyeongsang Province is increasing student satisfaction by operating the Job Plus Center with a focus on tangible employment outcomes.
Gumi University in Gyeongbuk is enhancing student satisfaction through the Job Plus Center's operation of programs focused on tangible employment outcomes.
After receiving an excellent evaluation last year in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's "Customized Employment Services for High School Students" project, Gumi University is once again actively pursuing the project this year with the goal of maximizing high school students' employment capabilities.
This year's first program began on the 31st of last month at Gumi Girls’ Commercial High School and is scheduled to be expanded this month to Gyeongju Information High School, Yeongcheon Electronics High School, and others.
In particular, the program focuses on strengthening practical employment competitiveness through a customized approach that reflects the needs of each school.
Gumi University invited specialized instructors recommended by high schools to teach practical interview techniques and provided students with opportunities to practice through mock interviews.
During the special lecture held at Gumi Girls’ Commercial High School on the 31st of last month, students preparing for employment in public offices and public enterprises participated in sessions on writing self-introduction letters and interview practice.
This program included analysis of frequently asked interview questions, effective answer strategies, and interview etiquette, with a focus on practical training.
One student who participated in the special lecture said, "By practicing interview skills that I had only learned in theory, I gained confidence. The feedback from the professional instructor helped me clearly identify my weaknesses, so it was a valuable experience."
The head of the career support department at Gumi Girls’ Commercial High School stated, "The customized special lecture was of practical help to the students. We plan to continue operating programs in cooperation with Gumi University that provide real support for employment preparation."
President Lee Seunghwan emphasized, "We will expand customized support by department and occupation to ensure the successful employment of vocational high school students. Through these efforts, we aim to establish ourselves as a university that contributes to revitalizing local employment and attracting population to the region."
