Wando County in Jeonnam announced on the 3rd that it will officially launch the 'Wando Tourist Taxi' service this month, providing convenient transportation for tourists.
The 'Wando Tourist Taxi' is a service designed to help tourists using public transportation visit tourist attractions and cultural heritage sites more conveniently. Tourists can travel to major attractions with guidance from the taxi driver, who also provides explanations to enhance the quality of the trip.
The fare for the Wando Tourist Taxi is as follows: 50,000 KRW for the first 2 hours, 70,000 KRW for 3 hours, 100,000 KRW for 5 hours, and 140,000 KRW for 8 hours. Wando County subsidizes 50% of the taxi fare.
In particular, Wando County supports 50% of the tourist taxi fare to reduce the burden on visitors. This allows travelers to enjoy a comfortable trip in Wando at a more affordable price. To use the tourist taxi, reservations must be made by phone at least two days in advance. Advance reservations ensure smooth operation and allow travelers to plan their trips more efficiently.
A county official stated, "We have launched the half-price tourist taxi service so that visitors can enjoy the beautiful nature and culture of Wando without financial burden," and added, "In celebration of the Year of Visiting Wando, we are also running various events such as the 'Wando Healing Pay,' which supports up to 200,000 KRW of travel expenses. We hope you visit Wando for a healing trip."
