Yongin City "Check and Pay Taxes via KakaoTalk"

Implementation of Mobile Electronic Notification and Payment Service
Covers Local Tax, Non-Tax Revenue Delinquency, License Tax, and More

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that it will implement a 'mobile electronic notification and payment service' using KakaoTalk to reduce errors in delivery of payment notices and enhance taxpayers' convenience.

Through the mobile notification service, citizens will receive tax payment guidance via Kakao AlimTalk without any separate application process. The city had previously piloted this service last year and has expanded its implementation starting this month.

The service covers five types of notifications: ▲local tax and non-tax revenue delinquency notices ▲license tax payment guidance ▲local tax refund notices ▲local tax non-payment notices, among others. Starting in June, the city plans to add about 10 more services, including ▲fines for violations of disabled parking zones ▲vehicle license plate seizure notices ▲real estate seizure notices ▲local tax deposit seizure notices. In particular, the city explained that the disabled parking violation fine notification service will allow users to instantly view violation photos within the mobile electronic notification.

Payment can also be easily processed via mobile. In addition to the existing KakaoPay, payment options have been expanded to include Naver Pay, and card payments are available through the Wetax app and ARS.

A city official stated, "We will continue to develop and provide administrative services that citizens can truly feel and benefit from."
