The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pil-ho) announced on the 3rd that, through consultations with Gyeongsangbuk-do, it has decided to install 30 temporary housing units called ‘Hope Houses’ for residents affected by the wildfires.

This decision was made after officials including Park Sung-soo, Director of the Safety Administration Office of Gyeongsangbuk-do, visited the association on the 2nd to discuss detailed plans, and the Hope Bridge executive meeting on the 3rd decided to provide support.

Many homes were completely destroyed by the wildfire, causing affected residents to rapidly lose their living spaces. Accordingly, Hope Bridge stated, “We will urgently deploy the mobile temporary housing units called ‘Hope Houses’ for quick recovery.”

The ‘Hope House’ is a 27㎡ (approximately 9 pyeong) steel-frame structure consisting of a room with storage space, a kitchen, and a bathroom. It is designed with excellent insulation performance to ensure comfortable living during summer heatwaves and winter cold spells. The spatial layout considers the minimum residential stability for disaster victims. It will be used as a stable temporary shelter until long-term housing measures are established.

The Hope Houses to be installed this time will be arranged in a complex form rather than as individual houses. This will enable interaction among disaster victims and provide psychological stability. The support will proceed once the installation site and residents are confirmed.

Kwon Oh-yong, Vice Chairman of Hope Bridge, said, “We hope the Hope Houses will be a small help to residents who lost their homes due to the wildfire,” and added, “We will continue to carry out prompt and practical disaster relief activities.”

Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, stated, “It is fortunate to be able to quickly provide temporary housing facilities to wildfire victims,” and expressed, “Gyeongbuk Province is doing its best to help disaster victims restore their daily lives, and we deeply thank Hope Bridge for deciding to support us.”
