Gwangju Buk-gu Council Appoints Seven Settlement Audit Committee Members

Intensive Inspection of Budget Execution and Performance Until the 22nd

On the 3rd, the Buk-gu Council of Gwangju appointed seven members as the 2024 fiscal year settlement inspection committee and officially began the settlement inspection process.

This settlement inspection includes council members Kim Youngsoon and Kim Geonan, along with four certified public accountants and one tax accountant, all of whom are private members with expertise in accounting and finance. The appointed committee members will comprehensively analyze last year's revenue and expenditure settlements, financial statements, performance reports, and attached documents over a 20-day period until the 22nd.


The inspection results will be compiled into a settlement inspection opinion report and published on the Buk-gu Council's website. Afterwards, the report will be used as basic reference material for settlement deliberations at the 303rd regular session scheduled for June.


Kim Youngsoon, the head committee member, stated, "We will thoroughly review whether the budget was executed according to its original purpose and focus on identifying cases of waste or improper management. By addressing issues revealed through the settlement, we aim to enhance the transparency and efficiency of fiscal operations."


Choi Moosong, Chairperson of the Buk-gu Council, said, "This is an opportunity to not only verify accounting but also to assess administrative performance and fiscal soundness. Please carefully evaluate the appropriateness and outcomes of the budget executed on behalf of the residents."
