Gateball Competition with Athletes from 17 Cities and Provinces
to Be Held on the 24th and 25th
Kim Heesu, Governor of Jindo County, participated in the "Mayor and Governor Relay Challenge" on the 3rd to ensure the successful hosting of the 2025 National Sports for All Festival, which will be held by Jeollanam-do.
This challenge targets local governments assigned to host events for the 2025 National Sports for All Festival and was planned to raise nationwide interest in the festival.

The 2025 National Sports for All Festival will take place at 57 venues across 20 municipalities in Jeollanam-do. In Jindo County, a gateball competition will be held at the public stadium over two days, from the 24th to the 25th, with about 1,000 participants including athletes and officials from 17 cities and provinces.
To ensure the successful hosting of the event, the county has held departmental preparation meetings, conducted various inspections in key areas such as accommodation and food services, and provided hospitality and hygiene training.
Additionally, to promptly address any inconveniences for athletes and visitors, a comprehensive information center will be operated during the event. Various cultural events will be held, including traditional Korean music performances (Buknori, Ganggangsullae), calligraphy and painting experiences, and a special performance featuring Jindogae. The county also plans to promote high-quality agricultural, fishery, and specialty products produced in clean Jindo, offering a wide range of attractions for visitors.
Kim Heesu stated, "I will do my best to ensure the successful hosting of the National Sports for All Festival," and nominated the Mayors of Yeosu and Wando for the next relay challenge.
