[Breaking] Changwon Mayor Hong Nampyo's Election Nullification Confirmed by Supreme Court

Hong Nam-pyo, the mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, who was put on trial for violating the Public Official Election Act during the 2022 nationwide local elections, was convicted by the Supreme Court on the 3rd.

The Supreme Court's third division (Presiding Justice Lee Sookyeon) held an appellate hearing on the case at 11:15 a.m. that day and upheld the second trial's ruling, which sentenced Mayor Hong to the annulment of his election.
