Recruitment of 184 General Grade 9 and 3 Public Service Employees...
Largest Scale Among Busan City Integrated Hiring Institutions
Regional Restrictions Introduced for Driving Positions, Related Laws Added...
Application Period: April 17-23
Busan Transportation Corporation will hold an open recruitment for 187 new employees (184 for general positions, 3 for public service positions) for the first half of 2025, starting with the application process on April 17.
This recruitment will be conducted through an integrated hiring process led by Busan Metropolitan City, and the corporation's recruitment accounts for 58% of the total integrated hiring (322 people).
The corporation will recruit new employees for eight general job categories (operations, driving, civil engineering, architecture, mechanical, electrical, signaling, and communications) and one public service job category (platform screen door maintenance). Notably, following last year, all general job categories will be open for recruitment again this year, providing quality jobs to local talents in various fields and fulfilling its social responsibility as the largest public enterprise in the region.
By recruitment type, 184 general positions will be filled through: ▲131 by open competitive recruitment ▲53 by limited competitive recruitment (for those with relevant experience).
Specifically, for the open competitive recruitment, the corporation plans to hire △37 in operations △18 in civil engineering △2 in architecture △20 in mechanical △36 in electrical △10 in signaling △8 in communications.
The limited competitive recruitment is aimed at people with disabilities, those eligible for employment support under relevant laws, and those with professional qualifications. It will recruit △10 in operations (8 for people with disabilities, 2 for veterans) △2 in electrical (for people with disabilities) △41 in driving (for holders of Class 2 licenses), totaling 53 positions.
For public service positions, 3 people will be recruited for platform screen door maintenance, and applicants must hold at least a technician-level certificate in a related field.
The Busan Transportation Corporation's recruitment will be conducted as part of the integrated recruitment of public institutions under Busan Metropolitan City. Applicants may apply for only one field at one institution, and duplicate applications are not allowed. Applications can be submitted online only via the Busan City integrated recruitment website from 10:00 a.m. on April 17 to 5:00 p.m. on April 23. The written exam is scheduled for May 17, and after personality and interview tests for those who pass the written exam, the final successful candidates will be announced in July.
In particular, two important changes will apply to this recruitment. First, a regional restriction has been introduced for driving positions, which mainly involve urban railway driver duties, so that only residents of Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam can apply. Accordingly, applicants must either △have resided in Busan, Ulsan, or Gyeongnam from before December 31, 2024, until the final interview date, or △have a record of residing in the region for at least three years before December 31, 2024.
Additionally, 'related laws and regulations' will be added as a subject to the written exam. Thus, the written exam will consist of △NCS (National Competency Standards) basic competency assessment △job-specific major △related laws and regulations. These changes were pre-announced in March and September last year, and more details can be found in the recruitment notice posted on the corporation's website.
Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "This recruitment is not only the largest among Busan City-affiliated institutions, but also very meaningful as it supports the settlement of skilled local talents by applying regional restrictions for professional positions. We hope to see a lot of interest and applications from talents who will lead the local community together with the corporation."
