Post-Compensation for 10 High-Risk Maternal and Neonatal Integrated Care Centers

The post-compensation for high-risk maternal and neonatal integrated care centers is a project that strengthens the medical infrastructure related to high-risk mothers and newborns and compensates for unavoidable medical losses incurred during the treatment process to ensure the stable provision of high-quality medical services.

This post-compensation will cover losses incurred between January and December 2024, with compensation possibly starting as early as the end of this year. Selected institutions will receive up to 100% compensation for medical losses incurred during the treatment of high-risk mothers and newborns through performance evaluations. The supported institutions were selected through an evaluation by a pilot project consultative body for post-compensation, composed of medical professionals, patient groups, project-related experts, as well as accounting and legal experts.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare stated, "Through the post-compensation for high-risk maternal and neonatal integrated care centers, essential personnel such as obstetricians, neonatologists, and nurses, as well as specialized wards and necessary medical equipment, will be expanded, enabling high-risk mothers and newborns to receive adequate care when needed."
