Enjoy Reading Walks Along the Stream
with the Outdoor Library Open
Seocho-gu Yangjae Library in Seocho-gu, Seoul, will operate the ‘Osolsup Outdoor Library’ and ‘Yangjae Library Embracing Yangjaecheon’ along the nearby Yangjaecheon Stream every Saturday and Sunday this month starting from the 5th.
The Osolsup Outdoor Library is a Seocho-style outdoor library created in the green space in front of Yangjae Library, where the natural scenery of Yangjaecheon and artistic sensibility achieve an optimal harmony. Especially this year, reading stairs have been installed on the embankment slope facing Yangjaecheon, allowing visitors to read books while enjoying the beautiful water and flowers.
In addition, exhibition spaces and reading rest areas have been created at various entrances and exits of Yangjaecheon, transforming the area into the ‘Yangjae Library Embracing Yangjaecheon.’
From 2 PM to 8 PM on weekends this month, visitors can experience various reading culture programs here. On the first day, the 5th, an event marking the start of the ‘Yangjae Library Embracing Yangjaecheon’ operation will be held from 1 PM to 5 PM.
Meanwhile, the district is leading K-reading culture that blends culture, art, and reading together with public libraries located throughout the area, centered around ‘Seocho Book Street’ along Banpodaero. Among them, Yangjae Library, which embraces Yangjaecheon, is a special space where visitors can enjoy reading in nature, and plans to operate the outdoor library again in the fall following this spring.
Jeon Seong-su, the district mayor, said, “I hope families, friends, and couples enjoy not only reading but also various exhibitions and experiences to the fullest at Yangjaecheon.”
