Selection of Environmentally Friendly Public Design
Presidential Award Prize of 20 Million KRW

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, will hold the '2025 Korea Public Design Awards' from the 7th to May 9th.

This contest, under the theme "Coexistence: Public Design for Tomorrow," will select a total of 15 outstanding projects and research works that respond to social changes and implement environmentally friendly public design.


This year, a new category called "Contribution to Public Design" has been established to promote social awareness of public design. Private companies that have independently carried out public design projects will be separately selected and awarded. Additionally, a new award from related academic societies has been introduced.


Three officials who have actively promoted the work will be selected and commended at the "Public Design Festival," held from October 24th to November 2nd. The research achievements of the award-winning works in the research category will be presented at the festival's academic conference.


The awards include ▲1 Presidential Award (prize money of 20 million KRW) ▲4 Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Awards (prize money of 10 million KRW each) ▲1 Victor Margolin Award (research grant of 2,000 USD) ▲5 Korea Craft & Design Foundation President Awards (prize money of 3 million KRW each) ▲4 Academic Society President Awards (prize money of 1 million KRW each), totaling 15 awards.


Applications will be accepted through "recommendation applications" from related organizations, companies, and experts, and "direct applications" from individuals, institutions, and companies that have conducted projects or research. Applications can be submitted via the Public Design Integrated Information System.
