Every Weekend Until June: Two Family Programs
Enjoy Play Acting and Create Picture Books Together
Four Educational Programs for Elementary, Middle, and High School Students
'Bookium' Operated for Preschool Children
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will operate six educational programs at the Songpa Book Museum until June, designed for families to enjoy together from toddlers to adults.
Welcoming the warm spring, the district has prepared various reading culture experience programs so that residents can enjoy leisure time with their families at the Songpa Book Museum.
First, as weekend educational programs for the whole family, two programs titled 'Hurrah, Joseon's Superhero' and 'Our Family is a Picture Book Author' will be offered.
'Hurrah, Joseon's Superhero' targets children aged 6 to 7 and provides an opportunity to enhance family interaction through play acting centered on Hong Gil-dong. 'Our Family is a Picture Book Author,' aimed at elementary school students in grades 1 to 3, helps families create special memories in the form of picture books and facilitates smooth communication within the family.
Additionally, educational programs for groups from daycare centers, kindergartens, and elementary to high schools have been prepared. These include four programs: ‘Hello? Book Museum!’, ‘We Know Songpa Growing Up 2’, ‘I Came to the Book Museum and Became a Love Doctor?!’, and ‘Exciting Challenge, Booktuber!’
In particular, the newly launched ‘Hello? Book Museum!’ introduces the museum to 6- to 7-year-old children who are visiting for the first time, helping them understand the role of the book museum and develop interest in books.
‘I Came to the Book Museum and Became a Love Doctor?!’, designed for elementary students in grades 4 to 6, is a new educational program linked to the Songpa Book Museum’s special exhibition 'Love Bloomed in Books.' Children become love doctors and solve the love dilemmas of characters in books through mission tasks, gaining an understanding of book culture and creating their own poetry using tunnel books.
Moreover, a special experiential exhibition space called ‘Bookium’ is operated for families with preschool children. It features a variety of sensory-stimulating interactive exhibitions based on world classic fairy tales such as Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack and the Beanstalk, providing enjoyable experiences for both children and parents.
The district expects that through these programs, families will understand book culture together and especially experience various cultural arts related to books. Exhibition viewing and education applications can be checked on the Songpa Book Museum website.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “As the season is perfect for outings, we have prepared various family-oriented experiential programs for residents,” adding, “I hope families have meaningful activities and enjoyable times together through the Songpa Book Museum.”
