Andong Hospital Donates 100 Million KRW
Hoping for a Swift Return to Daily Life
On the 1st of this month, Gyeongbuk Province announced that Kwon Jungcheon, Chairman of Hee Chang Trading, visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office on behalf of Kwon Junggap, Chairman of Stanford Hotel Group, and delivered a donation of 100 million KRW for the restoration of wildfire-affected areas and support for displaced residents.
Kwon Junggap, Chairman of Stanford Hotel Group, stated, "I wish for the swift recovery of local residents affected by the large-scale wildfires, and I am delivering this donation as a token of sincere gratitude to the public officials who worked hard to extinguish the fires."
Members of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association are taking a commemorative photo with Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, after donating 100 million won in wildfire relief funds.
Governor Lee Cheolwoo expressed, "I sincerely thank you for your warm act of sharing and concern for the wildfire victims," adding, "We will do our utmost to support the recovery of affected areas and residents."
Meanwhile, Stanford Hotel Group, which began its hotel business in New York, USA in 1986, currently operates 10 hotels domestically and internationally, as well as distribution and manufacturing businesses. In September 2024, it opened and is operating Stanford Hotel Andong in the new city of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government in Andong.
Additionally, six female entrepreneurs, including Ryu Byungseon, Honorary Chairwoman of the Gyeongbuk Branch of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association (CEO of Youngdo Velvet Co., Ltd.), delivered a donation of 100 million KRW to help overcome the recent massive wildfire damage in Gyeongbuk Province.
The participants in this donation include Ryu Byungseon, Honorary Chairwoman of the Gyeongbuk Branch (20 million KRW); Kim Youngsim (Shelline Co., Ltd.), Special Vice Chairwoman of the Seoul Branch (30 million KRW); Choi Yooni (JTech Water Co., Ltd.), Special Vice Chairwoman of the Daegu Branch (20 million KRW); Lee Changeun (Youngil Engineering Co., Ltd.), Chairwoman of the Daegu Branch (10 million KRW); Shin Haeneum (Culture Industry), member of the Gyeongbuk Branch (10 million KRW); and Kim Eunjeong (Sungshin Autotech Co., Ltd.), member of the Gyeongbuk Branch (10 million KRW).
The Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association, based on the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association established in 1971, was founded as the nation's first statutory women's economic organization under Article 13 of the "Act on Support for Female-Owned Businesses" enacted in 1999. It currently operates 19 branches nationwide and represents 3.14 million women entrepreneurs.
Chairwoman Ryu Byungseon said, "I hope this small contribution will help those who have lost their homes due to the unprecedented large-scale wildfires. As an entrepreneur fulfilling social responsibility, I will continue to grow together with the local community."
Seo Jungho, CEO of Ajin Industry, and his party visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office and delivered a donation for wildfire recovery in the presence of Governor Lee Cheolwoo, Jeon Wooheon, Chairman of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Community Chest of Korea, and other officials.
To support residents of the five cities and counties in Gyeongbuk Province?Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok?who suffered significant damage from the recent massive wildfires, Seo Jungho, CEO of Ajin Industry (100 million KRW), and all employees (20 million KRW) joined forces for this donation. It will be used for support of displaced residents and disaster recovery through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.
Seo Jungho, CEO of Ajin Industry, stated, "I extend my deepest condolences to the people of Gyeongbuk who suffered from the sudden wildfires. I hope this small support will help residents of affected areas quickly regain stability and return to their daily lives."
Governor Lee Cheolwoo said, "Ajin Industry is a model local company that actively practices the Saemaul cooperative spirit of Gyeongbuk, including donations for the Globalization of Saemaul Movement in Central Africa. In this situation where many residents have lost hope due to the massive wildfires, the warm hearts of CEO Seo Jungho and all employees of Ajin Industry will be a great comfort. We will mobilize all capabilities of Gyeongbuk to help residents return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, Ajin Industry, established in 1978, is a regional mid-sized company manufacturing automobile parts and has contributed to the globalization of the Saemaul Movement in Gyeongbuk.
Andong Medical Foundation Andong Hospital also visited Gyeongbuk Province on the 1st and delivered a donation of 100 million KRW for wildfire recovery in the presence of Governor Lee Cheolwoo and officials from the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.

Andong Medical Foundation Andong Hospital serves as the regional cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease center, regional emergency medical center, and regional trauma center, playing a leading role in providing essential medical services to the local community. In 2022, it also donated a disaster response vehicle to the Korean Red Cross (Gyeongbuk Branch).
Kang Boyoung, Chairman of Andong Medical Foundation, stated, "I hope this will be of some help in restoring the daily lives of those affected by the worst wildfires in history. As a local resident, I hope Gyeongsangbuk-do overcomes this crisis as soon as possible."
