SK Securities announced on the 2nd that it exclusively hosted the Korea roadshow of 'Primary Wave,' the world's No. 1 music intellectual property (IP) investment company. The roadshow, held on the 24th and 25th of last month, was prepared to discuss potential collaborations with domestic stakeholders interested in the global music IP market.
Primary Wave, founded by Chairman Larry Mestel who visited Korea this time, is a global music IP company that owns the music copyrights of famous artists such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney Houston, and Bob Marley.
SK Securities' Global Business Division plans to actively support the expansion of Primary Wave's partnerships within Korea through this roadshow and seek new opportunities in the global music IP market.
Jung-ho Han, head of SK Securities' Global Business Division, explained, "With advancements in new technologies such as digital humans, virtual production (VP), and digital concerts, the value of music copyrights is expected to rise further. In particular, Korea possesses future cutting-edge technology convergence infrastructure such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI), presenting a great opportunity to participate in the global music IP market."
