Seodaemun-gu Launches Emergency Support for Wildfire-Affected Areas

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) is taking emergency support measures for the Gyeongbuk region, which recently suffered significant damage from a large wildfire.


The district first assessed on-site needs for the disaster victims in Andong City, one of the affected areas, and on the 29th of last month, prioritized delivering relief supplies including 1,000 adult diapers and 3,000 bottles of water.

Seodaemun-gu Launches Emergency Support for Wildfire-Affected Areas On the 2nd, Seodaemun-gu Office employees are delivering donated goods at the reception desk set up in the lobby of the district office to be sent to the wildfire-affected areas in Gyeongbuk. Provided by Seodaemun-gu Office.

Additionally, the district will mobilize all possible measures to continue further support. From the 1st to the 3rd of this month, voluntary donations of goods and money by district office employees for wildfire relief are being promoted.


From the 4th to the 6th, in cooperation with the Seodaemun-gu Social Welfare Council, a ‘Wildfire Damage Recovery Fundraising Campaign’ will be conducted. Furthermore, centered on the Seodaemun-gu Volunteer Center, a volunteer group will be formed consisting of members from various professional organizations within the district and district office employees. The volunteers will be dispatched to the wildfire-affected sites to assist with relief activities and recovery work.


Mayor Lee Seongheon stated, “We will pursue all possible support measures including supplies, donations, and manpower to ensure the swift recovery of the affected areas and the restoration of residents’ daily lives.”
