Seongsan District Chief Choi Youngsook Visits Local Food Manufacturing Company Dongwon F&B

Through Food Manufacturing Site Visits and Listening to Corporate Challenges

Choi Youngsook, head of Seongsan District in Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, visited the Dongwon F&B Changwon Plant, the largest food manufacturing and processing company in the district, on the 2nd as part of a hands-on, field-oriented administrative initiative.

The Dongwon F&B Changwon Plant boasts the largest tuna can production capacity among Dongwon F&B's facilities in Korea, mainly producing processed seafood products such as tuna cans, whelk cans, and pet food. With a hygienic quality system, excellent production facilities, and outstanding human resources, it serves as a logistics hub.

During this visit, Head Choi met with key Dongwon F&B officials, including Plant Manager Seo Kitaek, to listen to introductions about the company and its challenges. She then toured the tuna can production site firsthand, gaining a deeper understanding of the food manufacturing process and experiencing the difficulties faced by on-site workers.

Choi Youngsook said, "It was a meaningful opportunity to see and learn about the entire manufacturing process of tuna cans, a familiar food loved by the public." She added, "I hope there will be much interest in developing new products that meet recent consumer trends, improving the working environment, introducing new technologies for safe food supply, and engaging in social contribution activities for the local community."
