For 2,000 Dogs... 38 Animal Hospitals Participating
Jeonju City in Jeollabuk-do will conduct the "2025 First Half Rabies Vaccination Support Program" for 2,000 pet dogs throughout the month of April.
According to the city on the 2nd, "rabies" is a zoonotic disease that can be transmitted from animals to humans and has a high fatality rate, so it is recommended to receive a booster vaccination once a year.
The vaccination is available for pet dogs aged three months or older that have completed animal registration. Dogs that have not been registered can receive the vaccination after completing registration at an animal hospital.
There are 38 partner animal hospitals where you can receive vaccination support, and these can be checked on the Jeonju City website. If you wish to get vaccinated, simply choose a nearby animal hospital and visit.
However, as only 2,000 vaccine doses are prepared for the first half of this year, the program may end early.
The usual cost of rabies vaccination is around 20,000 KRW, but during the program period, you only need to pay about 5,000 KRW for the vaccination procedure at designated animal hospitals.
A city official stated, "Rabies is a disease transmitted through the saliva of infected animals. In humans, it is mainly contracted through dog bites, so vaccination for pet dogs is important," and added, "We hope for much interest and participation in the rabies vaccination program for the safety of both pets and citizens."
