Cha Min-kyu, Kim Yoon-ji, and Ahn Hyun-jun Lead Efforts for Hosting
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 2nd that the Dongducheon City Skating Team attended the April monthly assembly on the 1st and held a medal awarding ceremony for the Dongducheon City Skating Team athletes who achieved outstanding results by winning medals at events such as the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games.

The Dongducheon City Skating Team (Coach Lee In-sik) saw athlete Cha Min-kyu win silver medals in the men's 1000m and men's team sprint at the recent Harbin Winter Asian Games, Kim Yoon-ji earn a bronze medal in the women's team pursuit, and Ahn Hyun-jun achieve overall victory at the 2025 National Men’s and Women’s Comprehensive Speed Skating Championships.
After the monthly assembly, the skating team athletes spent a special time taking photos with citizens to promote the hosting of the Dongducheon International Skating Rink. This event was planned to express hopes for securing the Dongducheon International Skating Rink and to allow citizens to interact closely with the skating team athletes and create lasting memories.
Following this, the skating team athletes held a casual meeting with the Mayor of Dongducheon.
Mayor Park Hyung-deok of Dongducheon City stated, “The achievements of the skating team are not just the result of individual efforts but also thanks to the cooperation of everyone in Dongducheon City, including the coach,” and added, “We will continue to provide unwavering support so that our athletes can maintain their top performance.”
Meanwhile, the Dongducheon City Skating Team pledged to continue focusing on consistent training and growth. They also unanimously emphasized their commitment to widely promote the team’s activities and achievements to local residents and to work together to ensure the Dongducheon International Skating Rink is successfully hosted in Dongducheon City.
