Lotte Duty Free announced on the 2nd that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with the Busan Tourism Organization to revitalize tourism in the Busan area.
This MOU was planned to attract domestic and international tourists and to activate the tourism industry in the Busan region. Based on this agreement, Lotte Duty Free and the Busan Tourism Organization plan to promote duty-free discount partnerships for domestic and international tourism product sales, collaborate on projects to increase the attraction of domestic and international tourists to Busan, share tourism information and form networks, and mutually cooperate to revitalize the tourism industry and develop the local economy.
Specifically, for domestic and international tourists using the travel products 'SIC (a tour program where domestic and international tourists staying in Busan can travel to nearby cities and major tourist spots along the East Coast by large bus or van)' and 'SIT (a tour program offering special experience-included products to domestic and international tourists staying in Busan)' which the Busan Tourism Organization plans to newly launch this year, Lotte Duty Free will provide special discount coupons to promote consumption.
Namgung Pyo, Head of Marketing at Lotte Duty Free, said, "We will continue to take the lead in attracting domestic and international tourists through various collaborations and do our best to contribute to the development of the local economy."
Meanwhile, Lotte Duty Free is focusing on attracting foreign group tourists and individual tourists (FIT) by leveraging its core business competitiveness. Last month, about 3,000 large cruise tourists visited the Lotte Duty Free Busan branch, the only large downtown duty-free store in Yeongnam, and enjoyed shopping. Going forward, the company has set a goal to strengthen marketing targeting both domestic and foreign customers and to consistently attract more than 10,000 foreign group tourists per month, including incentive (reward) tours and cruise group tourists in Seoul, Busan, and Jeju.
