Popcorn with "Advertisements" on Packaging Released
Manufacturers Cut Product Costs Through Advertising Revenue
"Advertising Snack Model" Lowers Retail Prices
GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 2nd that it has introduced 'advertising snacks,' which lower prices by inserting advertisements on product packaging.
Manufacturers reduce costs through advertising revenue, and customers can purchase products at reasonable prices.

At the end of last month, GS25 launched two types of popcorn (Cinema and Butter Garlic) featuring Samsung Life Insurance's advertising message for the '2025 Nationwide Guaranteed Health Check Festival.' These products are sold in a limited quantity of 200,000 units each, totaling 400,000 units, and the advertising cost benefits are passed on to consumers, offering the popcorn at 1,000 won, a price level from about seven years ago.
Through these advertising snacks, positive effects are expected for customers, manufacturers, distributors, and advertisers alike. Samsung Life Insurance, which conducted the advertisement, can achieve advertising effects by utilizing GS25’s high-selling snacks and encourage campaign participation through QR codes. Manufacturers can also secure additional sales by producing more products alongside advertising revenue. GS25 can enhance product price competitiveness to promote sales.
Starting with this case, GS25 plans to expand advertising-inserted products to practice mutual growth with customers and various partners.
Bang Hyun-jin, MD of the Processed Food Team at GS Retail, said, "This advertising snack is an excellent win-win model product that benefits everyone through a creative approach," adding, "We will continue to introduce new and innovative idea products that satisfy customers."
