Launch of Three Premium Canned Ham Varieties
Pork Content Exceeds 90%
Sajo Daerim announced on the 2nd that it will launch three types of premium canned ham in collaboration with Johnsonville, the No. 1 sausage brand in the United States. This marks Johnsonville's first entry into the canned ham category, targeting the domestic market.
Johnsonville, established in 1945 in Wisconsin, USA, is the top-selling sausage brand in the United States. It also holds the No. 1 market share in the imported sausage market in Korea by offering premium processed meat products.
The new products come in three flavors: Classic, Mild, and Signature, and are available in 120g, 200g, and 340g sizes. The Classic features an authentic American-style flavor, while the Mild has 25% less sodium compared to the Classic. The Signature is the first canned ham in Korea to apply smoked seasoning, using the recipe of Johnsonville's best-selling product, "Smoke Brat."
The ingredients include domestic pork and sun-dried salt, with pork content exceeding 90% to enhance flavor and juiciness. An authentic American-style processed meat recipe was applied, and three additives?cochineal extract color, sodium erythorbate, and potassium sorbate?were not included.
A representative from Sajo Daerim said, "The collaboration with the global processed meat brand Johnsonville is not just about launching a product but reflects consumers' high tastes and expectations in terms of flavor and ingredients throughout the product." They added, "We plan to continue introducing various premium processed meat products that differentiate in taste and quality."
