Support for Quarantine Supplies by Stadium
and Legionella Testing
Jeollanam-do held a meeting on the 1st with city and county officials in charge of quarantine to ensure the 2025 National Sports Festival for All is held safely from infectious diseases.
During the meeting, participants analyzed domestic and international trends in infectious diseases and discussed response strategies during the festival period based on risk assessment results.
The attendees agreed that intensive monitoring is needed for waterborne and foodborne infectious diseases, as well as respiratory infections, which have a high risk of group outbreaks. They decided to form quarantine task forces for each stadium and promote education on infectious diseases and vaccinations for participants and teams.
During the festival, a 24-hour emergency contact system will be maintained through quarantine officers assigned to each event at provincial, city, and county public health centers and medical institutions. Fourteen types of quarantine supplies, including insecticides, disinfectants, repellents, and masks, will be sufficiently stocked at quarantine booths in each stadium with a budget of 200 million won, and personal hygiene guidelines will be promoted.
For indoor stadiums, a ventilation officer will be designated to check ventilation fans, air conditioners, and air purifiers at least twice a day for more than 10 minutes each time.
To prevent Legionella infection, water samples will be collected from cooling towers, artificial water facilities, and hot and cold water in restrooms at the stadiums until the 4th for about 10 days. Tests will be conducted by the Institute of Health and Environment until negative results are confirmed.
The 2025 National Sports Festival for All will be held from the 24th to the 27th at 57 stadiums in 20 cities and counties.
