The Democratic Party of Korea in the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly stated on the 1st that it is "belated but fortunate" that the Constitutional Court has decided to hold the impeachment ruling of President Yoon Seok-yeol at 11 a.m. on the 4th.
In a statement on the same day, the Democratic Party of the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly said, "Now the Constitutional Court must not hesitate and must unanimously dismiss Yoon Seok-yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion," adding, "We must remember the voices of the people shouted while fighting the severe cold wave last winter at Namtaeryeong and Hannam-dong, and not forget the light that filled Gwanghwamun Square."
They continued, "The Constitutional Court must show that justice is alive and fulfill its responsibility as the last bastion of constitutional protection," warning, "Judges who issue opinions to dismiss or reject the case must remember that they will commit an unforgivable sin against history and the Republic of Korea."
Furthermore, they urged, "Only the dismissal of Yoon Seok-yeol can protect the constitution and restore the fallen democracy," and requested, "We ask the Constitutional Court to become the pride of the people."
