Free Weekend Shuttle Buses and Temporary City Bus Routes
Bus-Only Lanes and Other Measures to Enhance Transportation Convenience
If you are planning to visit the Jinhae Gunhangje, a nationally renowned cherry blossom festival, it is recommended that tourists use public transportation.
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam is making efforts to improve transportation convenience and ensure smooth traffic flow for tourists during the 63rd Jinhae Gunhangje by operating free weekend shuttle buses and temporary city bus routes as part of its transportation measures.
On the way to see the cherry blossoms at Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, public transportation is the best choice.
During the festival, the city will set up traffic information centers at major entrances on weekends, when the largest crowds are expected, to guide private vehicles to nearby temporary parking lots, and operate three lines of free weekend shuttle buses.
The free weekend shuttle buses will operate on three lines: the Blue Line (Gongdan-ro - via Anmin Tunnel - Gyeonghwa Station - Jungang Market - Jinhae Station - Bukwon Rotary), the Yellow Line (Doosan Volvo-ro - via Jangbok Tunnel - Yeoja Intersection), and the Red Line (Ungcheon Elementary School Myeongdong Branch - Jinhae District Office - Gyeonghwa Station - Jungang Market - Naval Education Command).
On the last day of the festival, April 6, only the Red Line will operate, and when returning from major tourist sites, visitors should use the shuttle bus line with the same color as the one they boarded initially.
Vehicles heading towards Anmin Tunnel should park at the temporary parking lot on Gongdan-ro, those heading towards Jangbok Tunnel at Doosan Volvo-ro, and those coming from Jinhae Yongwon at the Ungcheon Elementary School Myeongdong Branch (closed school), and use the free shuttle buses available from 9 AM to 9 PM.
Additionally, to facilitate movement within Jinhae District, a temporary city bus route (Green Line) will operate 16 buses on weekends, circulating from Inui-dong Terminal to Jinhaeru, Gyeonghwa Station, and Bukwon Rotary.
During the festival weekends, to improve public transportation convenience, a 4.3 km section from Bukwon Rotary to Jungang Market, Gyeonghwa Station, and Lotte Mart will be designated as a bus-only lane and operated 24 hours a day. This bus-only lane can be used not only by shuttle buses but also by vans with a capacity of 25 passengers or more.
Furthermore, to prevent traffic accidents and alleviate congestion for tourists, the city is strengthening traffic safety by deploying police officers, model drivers, and safety personnel at traffic information centers and bus-only lane sections.

Lee Jonggeun, Director of the Transportation and Construction Bureau, said, "We are doing our best to improve the transportation environment so that tourists visiting the Jinhae Gunhangje can enjoy the festival conveniently and safely," and added, "We especially ask visitors to actively use the free shuttle buses and city buses on weekends when traffic is congested."
