Support for Safety Shut-off Devices and LPG Cylinder Facility Improvements
Targeting 270 Households... Applications Accepted at Town and Township Offices
Damyang County, Jeonnam Province, announced on the 1st that it will promote the "Gas Safety Device (Timer Cock) Distribution Project for Low-Income Households" and the "LPG Cylinder User Facility Improvement Project (Replacement with Metal Pipes)" to create a safe gas usage environment.
The timer cock is a safety device that automatically shuts off the gas valve after a set period of time, preventing accidents in advance. This project will be implemented for 240 low-income and vulnerable households aged 55 and older, with all installation costs fully covered.
The metal pipe replacement project involves replacing rubber hoses, which are vulnerable to gas accidents, with metal pipes and installing a fuse cock. This project will be carried out for 30 households. The installation cost is 290,000 KRW per household, of which 10% (29,000 KRW) must be paid by the household.
Households wishing to participate in the project can apply at their local town or township office by the 9th. For selected households, the construction company will visit sequentially from May to November to carry out the installation.
From 2022 to 2024, the county has implemented timer cock and metal pipe facility improvement projects for 1,543 households, and is also promoting various initiatives such as energy vouchers and new and renewable energy convergence projects to support energy welfare for vulnerable groups.
A county official said, "Proactive prevention is more important than anything else when it comes to gas safety accidents," and added, "We will continue to carry out support projects to ensure the safety of our residents."
