This project aims to improve the living environment and promote balanced development in rural areas by reorganizing and fostering various functions such as housing, industry, convergence industry, and landscape.

To be selected for this project, the county held several community briefings to actively gather opinions from local residents. The project was ultimately selected after being recognized for its feasibility and viability in on-site and in-person evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Following this selection, the county will designate the center of Gurim-myeon as a "Rural Protection District" and, in connection with the ongoing Forest Products Distribution Center, will create a "Rural Convergence Industry District" in the northwestern region of Sunchang focused on local specialty forest products such as dureup and bokbunja, integrating production, processing, distribution, and experiential activities.

Through this, the county aims to establish a processing and distribution system for forest products, revitalize the local economy through the sixth industrialization linked to experiential tourism, and contribute to improving cultivation techniques and training professionals through systematic education.

In particular, in Gurim-myeon, which has been designated as a Rural Village Protection District, the county plans to enhance residential stability by constructing rental housing for the increasing number of rural students and returnees to farming and rural areas, and to improve the quality of life for local residents by creating community rest areas.

County Governor Choi Youngil stated, "The selection of this 10 billion KRW rural space reorganization project is a groundbreaking development opportunity for the northwestern region of Sunchang," and added, "We will focus all administrative efforts on designating the center of Gurim-myeon as a Rural Village Protection District to bring new vitality to the aging rural area and make tangible improvements to the living environment that residents can truly feel."
