The Gwangyang Maehwa Festival Promotion Committee in Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do presented a plaque of appreciation to Honorary Director Shin Chunsik on March 31 for his passionate dedication and support that led to the successful hosting of the 24th Gwangyang Maehwa Festival.
Director Shin Chunsik is known for his remarkable planning skills, having successfully managed major events such as the Presidential Office’s National Integration Committee MOU and the launch ceremony of the regional council through strategic entertainment.

In particular, as the honorary director of the 24th Gwangyang Maehwa Festival, he provided unpaid advisory services on all aspects of festival management, including festival site composition and operation, program implementation consulting, and execution support. He demonstrated strong drive and outstanding operational abilities befitting an expert with extensive on-site experience.
Honorary Director Shin Chunsik stated, “Although the 24th Gwangyang Maehwa Festival faced challenges due to the slow blooming of flowers, I heard from many that the stabilized and systematized programs and management greatly improved tourism readiness and visitor satisfaction. As a native of Daap-myeon, where the festival is held, and as the head of the agency that has operated the festival for over a decade, I feel rewarded to have worked closely with related organizations and the festival committee to upgrade the festival from preparation to completion.”
Chairman Kim Jongho said, “I deeply appreciate the high level of planning, passion, and dedicated efforts shown by Honorary Director Shin Chunsik at the 24th Gwangyang Maehwa Festival. Going forward, the Gwangyang Maehwa Festival will continue to appoint creative and capable professionals to consistently realize a stable and systematic vision for the festival.”
Meanwhile, the 24th Gwangyang Maehwa Festival, held from March 7 to March 16, concluded with great success and enthusiastic response, featuring innovative content such as the Korea Tourism Top 100 Exploration Event and the Maedoliland Experience Zone at Gwangyang Maehwa Village, which was selected as one of the ‘Korea Tourism Top 100 for 2025-2026’.
