Cheongsong County in North Gyeongsang Province carried out an emergency agricultural machinery support program on March 31, becoming the first local government to do so in order to help farmers who suffered massive losses from a large-scale wildfire quickly resume their farming activities.

This was the fastest response among local governments affected by the disaster and is being recognized as a leading measure that provides practical assistance to farmers.
This support was made possible through an urgent budget allocation decided by North Gyeongsang Province, and was implemented by supplying 10 speed sprayers (SS machines) and 50 walking tractors to the Agricultural Machinery Rental Center at the Cheongsong County Agricultural Technology Center.
In particular, this disaster recovery support is drawing attention as it is the first of its kind to be carried out at the local government level without precedent.
Cheongsong County plans to prioritize the allocation of the supported agricultural machinery to the areas most severely affected by the wildfire, including Pacheon-myeon, Jinbo-myeon, and Cheongsong-eup, and will also relocate some agricultural machinery from the southern region to the main center and other locations for more efficient operation.
Especially for the highly demanded SS machines, the county will focus their deployment in the most severely damaged villages and operate them intensively at the village level to quickly support agricultural recovery.
County Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, "We will continue to devise various measures and establish ongoing support plans to ensure that farms affected by the wildfire can swiftly resume their farming activities."
