Lee Jaejong, the Democratic Party candidate for Damyang County Governor, commented on the Constitutional Court's impeachment ruling against President Yoon Sukyeol scheduled for 11 a.m. on the 4th, stating, "The Republic of Korea must return to normal," and emphasized, "We must unite solidly under the Democratic Party for the President, the National Assembly, and Damyang."

On the 1st, Lee issued an urgent statement, declaring, "The Republic of Korea will regain its democracy. Spring will come to the fields that were taken away," and stressed, "In the upcoming presidential election, we must reclaim power from Yoon Sukyeol, the ringleader of rebellion, and his clique."

He said, "I vividly remember the scene on December 3rd last year when soldiers with guns and swords were brought into the National Assembly and the Constitutional Court," adding, "I remember Speaker Woo Wonsik and the Democratic Party lawmakers who climbed over the walls to stop martial law. I remember the cries and shouts of the people in front of the cold winds of the National Assembly in Yeouido, demanding to block martial law and calling for impeachment," urging the Constitutional Court to make a wise decision.

Lee appealed, "If we are divided, we could once again hand over power to those who dared to declare martial law," and pleaded, "Please protect the Republic of Korea. Please unite under the Democratic Party."
