Until the 11th at Hosim Art Museum
Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 1st that the Watercolor Illustration Class of the Lifelong Education Center will hold its 4th members' exhibition with the theme "Embracing the Light" featuring floral watercolor illustrations.
This exhibition, which runs until the 11th at Hosim Art Museum on the 1st floor of Geukgi Hall at Gwangju University, will showcase 27 works completed with new watercolor techniques by five members of the Lifelong Education Center.
Floral watercolor illustration is a genre that expresses phenomenological feelings evoked by photographs of flowers capturing natural light, using watercolor. Through the coloring process, which aesthetically represents objective reality, the artist's present self can be introspectively explored as it transforms through the experience.
Jung Hyunju, instructor at the Lifelong Education Center, said, "Even in a life filled with many difficulties, hope always exists with light. I ask for your interest in the exhibition of our members who dream of a better future with their brushes."
Choi Junho, director of Hosim Art Museum, stated, "Through annual exhibitions, the works of adult learners in the Lifelong Education Center's watercolor illustration class have reached a remarkable level. The university art museum will play a leading role in enabling voluntary participation and competency development through lifelong learning."
