Pan-Citizen Promotion Team Launching Ceremony and Resolution Rally Held

Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) has formed a 'Pan-Citizen Promotion Team' and launched an all-out effort to attract the Gyeonggi Provincial Council Legislative Training Center.

According to Gapyeong-gun on the 1st, the county held the 'Gyeonggi Provincial Council Legislative Training Center Pan-Citizen Promotion Team Launching Ceremony and Resolution Rally' at Gapyeong County Office on the 31st, and officially submitted a letter of intent to attract the center to the Gyeonggi Provincial Council on the same day.
The event was attended by about 130 people, including the promotion team composed mainly of heads of social organizations, Governor Seo Tae-won, Kim Kyung-soo, chairman of the county council, county council members, Lim Kwang-hyun, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member, village chiefs, resident autonomy committee members, and residents, who united in their determination to attract the legislative training center.
At the site, attendees voiced a unified opinion, saying, "Attracting the legislative training center is more than just attracting an institution; it will be a springboard for the development of Gapyeong-gun."
The Pan-Citizen Promotion Team was formed with Jang Dong-won, president of the Korean Senior Citizens Association Gapyeong Branch, and Son Jong-gi, president of the Gapyeong Saemaul Association, as co-leaders, and includes 50 heads of social organizations. Additionally, advisors such as Governor Seo Tae-won, National Assembly member Kim Yong-tae, Provincial Assembly member Lim Kwang-hyun, Chairman Kim Kyung-soo of the county council, and other council members participate to support the promotion activities.
Gapyeong-gun has established an attraction plan centered on the candidate site within Yeoninsan Provincial Park. This site is public land directly owned by Gyeonggi Province, which not only reduces land acquisition costs but also receives high evaluations in terms of harmony with the natural environment and expandability. The natural environment, including the Bukhan River, famous mountains, pine nut forests, and surrounding trails, is considered an optimal location as it can provide both learning and relaxation.
Gapyeong-gun has experienced continuous marginalization, having been excluded from three rounds of public institution relocations and also excluded from attracting the public medical center in northeastern Gyeonggi Province. Accordingly, there is a strong will among the pan-citizens to unite their intentions and ensure the successful attraction of the legislative training center this time.
Governor Seo Tae-won said, "The promotion team launched today will unite the will of the citizens and respond with full force so that Gapyeong-gun can definitely be chosen," adding, "We ask for the continuous interest and participation of the citizens."
Earlier, the county council adopted the 'Resolution to Attract the Gyeonggi Provincial Council Legislative Training Center' on March 24, and the county formed the 'Administrative Support Promotion Team for the Gyeonggi Provincial Council Legislative Training Center' on the 25th.
Gapyeong-gun plans to continue multifaceted efforts to attract the legislative training center in close cooperation with the Gyeonggi Provincial Council and related organizations.
