Jeongeup City to Provide Interest Support for Housing for Youth and Newlyweds

Easing Housing Costs
Up to 3 Million KRW in Support

Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province is implementing the '2025 First Half Youth and Newlywed Couple Housing Loan Interest Support Program'.


According to the city on the 1st, this program is designed to ease the housing cost burden for young people and newlywed couples and help them settle stably in the region. It provides an annual interest rate support of 2%, up to a maximum of 3 million KRW per year, on outstanding loans taken for housing purposes such as jeonse (long-term lease), purchase, or new construction.

In particular, the support can be provided continuously for up to 10 years, which is expected to help achieve substantial housing stability. Eligible applicants are young people (aged 18 to 45, with an annual income of 50 million KRW or less) and newlywed couples (within 10 years from the date of marriage registration, with a combined annual income of 80 million KRW or less) who have resided in Jeongeup for more than six months. Anyone who meets the qualifications can apply.


Applications are open until the 25th. Applicants should visit the administrative welfare center of their registered address and submit the application form along with the required documents. For more details, check the 'Notices' section on the city hall website or contact the Population Policy Team of the Planning and Budget Office.


Mayor Lee Haksoo stated, "I hope this interest support program will substantially reduce the economic burden on young people and newlywed couples, and help foster a local atmosphere that encourages marriage and childbirth," adding, "We will continue to expand practical, resident-focused housing policies that benefit the lives of our citizens."
