The Honam Branch of the Korea Labor Foundation (Branch Manager Kang Sooyoung) announced on the 1st that it has been implementing the "Mid-to-Late Career Support Program" for job seekers aged 50 and above at the Gwangju, Jeonbuk, and Jeju Middle-Aged Job Centers since last month.
The "Mid-to-Late Career Support Program" is an employment support initiative aimed at increasing the employability of middle-aged individuals who have obtained qualifications or completed training but face difficulties in re-employment due to a lack of practical experience. The program provides opportunities to gain on-site work experience, job mentoring, and training in mindset and digital skills.
Eligibility requirements include middle-aged individuals aged 50 to 65 who have acquired qualifications or completed vocational training to transition their careers after retirement. Companies with 10 or more employees covered by employment insurance are also eligible to participate.
The participation period ranges from one to three months. Participants can receive a monthly allowance of up to 1.5 million KRW, while companies receive up to 400,000 KRW in operational support per participant. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the Gwangju, Jeonbuk, and Jeju Middle-Aged Job Centers.
Kang Sooyoung, Branch Manager of the Honam Branch of the Korea Labor Foundation, emphasized, "Continuous economic activity is most important for planning a stable second life. The Korea Labor Foundation will establish an operational council for the Mid-to-Late Career Support Program and actively support customized re-employment by fostering an employment environment for middle-aged individuals in companies."
