Open to all industries
Incheon City will provide welfare points worth 1.2 million KRW to improve the welfare benefits of young people working in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The city announced that it will recruit participants for the welfare points program from the 1st to the 10th of the coming month. Eligible applicants are workers aged 18 to 39 residing in Incheon who have been employed at a local SME for more than three months and whose average monthly salary over the past three months is 2.87 million KRW (before tax) or less.
The city lifted the industry restriction, which was limited to manufacturing until last year, and expanded the eligibility to all young workers employed in SMEs starting this year.
This year, 2,000 people will be selected and will receive a total of 1.2 million KRW per person, paid quarterly at 300,000 KRW each time, in the form of local currency (Incheon e-eum) consumption coupons and online welfare mall points.
The welfare points can be used as a payment method for cultural activities, dining out, health care, and more.
Applications can be submitted through the 'Incheon Youth Portal.' The city will conduct eligibility screening for applicants and select recipients based on income ranking. The selection results can be checked on the application site on the 14th of next month.
The Incheon Youth Welfare Points Program for workers is an Incheon-style incentive support measure designed to resolve welfare dissatisfaction among young workers and boost their motivation to work. It was first introduced nationwide in 2018 and has supported over 8,000 people so far.
