On March 28, the Boao Forum 2025 Annual Conference concluded successfully. Approximately 2,000 representatives from over 60 countries and regions around the world attended the conference, engaging in in-depth discussions under the theme "Creating Asia's Future Together Amid Global Changes."
At this forum, China presented four major proposals: enhancing trust, strengthening unity and cooperation, promoting economic globalization through openness and integration, fostering common prosperity based on mutual benefit, and safeguarding regional stability through peaceful coexistence. These proposals garnered broad consensus among participating countries. China consistently upholds multilateralism and actively promotes cooperation and open development in the Asia-Pacific region.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the proposal to build an Asian Community with a Shared Future. Over the past decade, Asia's share in the global economy has steadily increased. According to a report released at the forum, Asia's economic growth rate is expected to reach 4.5% in 2025, a slight increase from 4.4% in 2024. In the same year, Asia's total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is projected to account for 48.6% of the global total (48.1% as of 2024). These figures demonstrate that Asia remains a key driver of global growth.
As Asia's largest economy, China has attracted attention by flexibly responding to global "changes" based on its own "stability." In recent years, China has continuously implemented measures to expand openness, including expanding visa-free entry countries, providing tariff-free benefits to the poorest countries, and announcing policies to stabilize foreign investment, thereby injecting vitality into economic growth. This is seen as sharing development opportunities with the international community.
In fact, in 2024 alone, 60,000 new foreign-invested enterprises were established in China, marking a 9.9% increase compared to the previous year. Additionally, over the past five years, the return on direct foreign investment in China has reached 9%, maintaining a leading position globally.
