Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) will hold the ‘2025 Seodaemun Walking Event with Companion Animals’ on the afternoon of the 12th at Ansan (鞍山) Companion Dog Walking Trail (around 2-14, Yeonhui-dong), where the whole family can enjoy together.
The scene of the "Walking Event with Pets" held on May 18 last year at Ansan (鞍山) dog walking trail in Seodaemun-gu. Provided by Seodaemun-gu.
From noon to 2 PM on the day, various programs that both pet owners and non-pet owners can enjoy together will be held at the entrance of the walking trail next to the back gate of Yeonbuk Middle School, including busking music performances, the Challenge Golden Bell OX game, and nostalgic retro games.
Additionally, side events such as the ‘Wait’ Champion Contest for companion dogs, emergency CPR experience for dogs, pet tarot readings, face painting, leash making, insect repellent making, and a lucky draw will be prepared.
At the promotional booth, recruitment for ‘Seodaemun Dang Friends’ and ‘Seodaemun Dangdangi Patrol’ will take place, along with information on various companion animal policies. At the consultation booth, adoption counseling for abandoned animals, health and behavior correction counseling for companion dogs, and animal registration will be provided.
The walking event starts at 2 PM, and participants will walk with their companion animals along a 2 km circular walking trail that returns to the starting point. A commemorative photo will also be provided at the photo zone on the day. This trail was created by Seodaemun-gu in November 2023 so that anyone can safely and comfortably walk with their dogs in nature, and it takes about one hour to complete one lap.
Anyone interested in companion animal culture or who wants to walk together can participate, and those who wish to join can apply through the Seodaemun Naepumae (愛) Center website or by calling the Seodaemun-gu Office Companion Animal Support Division at 02-330-1926.
Mayor Lee Seongheon said, “We look forward to the interest and participation of many people in this event where you can spend happy times with your companion animals.”
